Forty years of fixing commercial equipment other people wanted to replace

George Blevens has worked on commercial and industrial HVAC for more than 40 years: reciprocating compressors, chillers, boilers, control cabinets and rooftop units on buildings that cannot afford to go warm. We run our business the way he runs a service call. Find the fault, fix it, and keep the equipment going for as long as it makes financial sense.

Built for plants, offices and hospitals, not houses

Plenty of HVAC shops are residential companies that answer a commercial call when one comes in. George puts it plainly: we don't just take the calls because they're there. We are built around commercial and industrial facilities, and that is the only work we do. No furnaces in basements, no window units, no split systems in a spare bedroom.

That focus shows on the equipment list. We work on everything from a 1-ton unit over a telecom closet to 200-ton chillers carrying a process load, and on the boilers, cooling towers, pumps and controls that sit between them. The work we want is equipment we take over after the installer's warranty has run out, which is exactly the stage where a building needs someone who knows how to keep it going.

Service first, not replacement first

Our slogan is solution oriented, not sales oriented, and it sums up how we see the trade. A lot of commercial HVAC companies make their money selling equipment. Their tech sees a 15-year-old rooftop unit and starts writing a proposal before the gauges are on. George has followed behind companies like that, found the actual fault, repaired it, got the building back online, and told the owner to remember us when replacement really is due.

His rule is to keep a piece of equipment running as long as possible, until it is monetarily not feasible anymore. A condenser fan motor, a contactor or a failed control board is a repair, not a reason to buy a new unit. When a compressor is gone on a unit that is also leaking and past its service life, we say that too, and we help you plan the replacement or retrofit on your schedule.

The clearest example is a TV station on a weekend night, equipment room overheating, after other companies had said nothing could be done until parts arrived. George found a failed condenser fan motor, ran soaker hoses from a hardware store across the condenser coil to hold head pressure, and the station stayed on the air until the new motor went in.

Skilled, accountable, resourceful

These are the three words George uses for how we work. Here is what each one means on a service call.

All makes, 1 ton and up

Skilled

Four decades of reading controllers, meters and refrigerant pressures on chillers, boilers and rooftop units. We diagnose the intermittent trip and the alarm that clears itself, and we read the controls and the mechanical side together instead of guessing at one.

In writing, every call

Accountable

You get written documentation after every service call: what we found, what we did, what to watch. When repair stops making sense on a unit, we tell you straight. Installations carry our 1-year installation warranty plus the manufacturer's warranty.

Parts nobody makes

Resourceful

A lot of what we work on is real old equipment. When the manufacturer doesn't make the part anymore, we go find a way: a cross-referenced part or an adapted replacement, so a discontinued board does not turn into a new air handler.

The equipment range we cover

All brands, old and new, in commercial and industrial buildings across Middle Tennessee.

EquipmentWhat that covers
ChillersAir-cooled and water-cooled, comfort and process cooling, up to 200 tons, down to small units such as MRI chillers.
Rooftop and package units2 to 120 tons, gas heat and heat pump, economizers and the controls on top.
Boilers and hydronicsLow-pressure boilers, circulator pumps and hot and chilled water loops.
Cooling towersFans, gearboxes, basins and condenser water pumps.
Critical roomsComputer room and telecom cooling that cannot go warm.
Air sideAir handlers, makeup air, exhaust fans, dehumidification, humidification and natatorium units.

Have an old unit someone told you to replace?

Send us the make, the model and what it is doing. We will tell you honestly whether it is worth fixing.
